Train With Me is a social media platform created in the form of a mobile phone application.
The purpose of the app is to connect people using public fitness centres - such as, gyms, swimming pools, running groups and bike groups etc. by creating a platform in which a user creates a profile, adding a picture as well as a brief biography about themselves and what kind of training they do, which gym/swimming pool/running group/bike group they are members of and what days they take part in these activities.
Once this has been created, the user can then go onto the map screen where they will be able to view all the registered fitness centres in the area where they can then select the fitness centre that they are thinking to attend. Once selected, the page will then show a brief summary of the fitness centre i.e. opening times, what facilities are available, reviews left by other members and pictures. From there the user will be able to select the 'members' tab where they can then view other users that use that centre which can be filtered by gender, age, type of training and skill level, once they have chosen their selected filters they can then choose to add other users as friends which in turn will allow them to message the other user about possibly training with them. Once a user has built up a friend list every time the user attends that fitness centre the user will automatically check in which will, in turn, send the users friends an automatic notification letting them know they the user is training at the gym so that they might be able to join them. The final page is the 'news feed' page where the user will be able to post status' as well as see other status' and check ins. There will also be a feature where users can make private groups between friends where they can communicate about when they are going to train and where - this feature would also cater for personal trainers and their clients, helping them keep track of them and motivate them to train. Another feature of the app is that it will be able to be linked to other social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, so that when they check in or write a status it will also be shared on the other platform/s, - this is a vital part of the apps function as we are not aiming to compete with such companies but work with them as Instagram does.
