Offline Captive Portal on OpenWRT

An OpenWRT router (LinkIt Smart 7688 hardware) is used for creating an offline hotspot. The hotspot doesn't have an Internet connection. I want to configure captive portal on the router such that any user who connects to the hotspot is automatically redirected to the web page hosted on the same router. No authentication required - just a redirection when the user connects to the wifi.

The preferred approach is to use NoDogSplash with a made-up static WAN IP address. I expect a script which will add the functionality to the router.

This is a first project from the bigger list of Linux related tasks so I'm looking for a longer cooperation.

There is no need of creating the Captive Portal itself - no authentication and form submission required. The requirement is to automatically redirect the user to a web page already hosted on the same router.

It's a pretty simple task which should take about 1hour of work for an experienced admin who knows how to do it. However to give you flexibility I expect it to be done in 7 days.

Required devices to work with: Android (phone/tablet), iPhone, iPad, PC.
