We need a virtual pdf printer driver for at least W2K, XP and Vista PCs. Linux and Mac OS would be nice to have.
1. User writes a text for instance with MS Word.
2. User presses the print button and selects our printer driver
Username and Password which we provided to the user before need be typed in. For instance via https post authentification is checked against the server. Error handling starts or continue with step 3.
3. Configuration menu starts
Besides regular printing options User can selct: Fax, Archive, Sign
One, two or all options can be selcted.
For the option Fax the User can put in recipient name, recipient
fax number, senders fax number and name.
For the option Archive the User can configure archive folder, some
For the digital signature option the user can select if the send document should be automtically archived, if a verification protocol should be generated and the recipient email adress has to be typed in.
4. Once the configuration is complete a https post process is started
We will deliver a concrete description how the URL needs to be set up.
Alternatively an email interface would be possible as well. We would deliver a concret description how the subject field needs to be filled.
The driver needs to be configurable only by us with for instance the server URL, etc.
Security, usability and performance is very import and needs to take into account.
