Hello - I'm looking for somebody who can take a look at our existing Windows application's main screen and - without changing the fundamental layout or functionality - come up with a new look for it that will make it look more modern and appealing.
The main restriction is: everything that's on the screen pretty much has to stay there, and in roughly the same place - we have a lot of existing users who we don't want to confuse. So we're primarily looking for a better use of fonts, colours - "skinning" if you like - that will make the program look better.
Bear in mind this is a business application so we don't want it to look too over-designed and jazzy - the main thing we want it to look is "slick and professional", and slightly less dull than most windows apps in this category.
Part of the deliverable would be a set of simple design guidelines that we can use in other screens in the product, eg. "Always use Calibri 12 and a background colour of XYZ" etc.
Examples of your previous work will be fine as a pitch for this - we don't expect you to submit specs of these screens
UPDATE: I haven't explained very well what I want in terms of end product. I would like a screenshot or screenshots of the application window, as per my originals, but showing your new design.
What tools you use to create this are up to you, but you must also supply clear design guidelines on how to replicate your design using standard Windows controls. So sizes, fonts, borders? and colours are up to you, but the types of edit boxes shown must stay the same.
Hope that's clearer.
