I prefer an Excel macro or Add-in to extract certain data from multiple PDF (text) files and populate an Excel database. Because the CASING has multiple records per file a relational database appears necessary. I have included an example of the desired output in the attached Excel file. There is also a tab of instructions in the Excel spreadsheet. The ideal solution will be to save the Excel spreadsheet in the sub-directory containing the PDF files and put the cursor on the filename list on the "files" tab and the macro will populate the two databases on the tabs: Well Information and Casing. I am open to suggestions if there is a better way of accomplishing this task. Because of future projects I want the macro to operate locally. I have included all the files for the current project.
