The aim is to develop a GIS application for the installation of photovoltaic plants containing, a design and estimated production tool using GIS information. No matter to use modules of existing software, databases to take advantage. It mean, a kind of interconnection modules that a designed from nothing.

Photovoltaic plant on the outskirts of an urban (city), to supply it.

What we propose developing this application in ArcGIS 10 is the location of the land suitable for the installation of photovoltaic. The optimal installation is determined by several factors.
We look for potential sites in terms of electric production capacity in each place. This depends on several factors: type of panel (brand and model) orientation and curvature of that, path of the sun, followers of 1, 2 and 3 axes, and so on. Calculation of monthly production. Also it must let to export the data in *. xls. It must be a tool that can be implemented in all parts of the world.
Focus on the preparation of a GIS tool for drawing and design of a solar farm (measures of two-axis trackers, followers of one shaft, covered, fixed structures, we should define what design elements come into game). Once the drawing farm module, it must have a tool for calculating lost by shadows (to help us see if we have correctly defined the design or needs to be replaced by too losts). We must find an easy tool to be included within the module.
