Penny Auction CakePHP Plugins & Updates

We have a project being built for a client who aspires to launch a successful Penny Auction site. Currently, the foundation site is installed on a dedicated server, with the bulk of the work done.

What remains is the creation of two or three new auction plugins, which will essentially require taking an existing plugin and modifying into two new ones that will match the clients criteria or use and function.

Also, there are other aspects that include modifications and enhancements that are fairly minor in scope. Example includes adding an internal mailer like SwiftMailer to the system, allowing the administrator to email single users or to mass email all users from one interface. Connecting data of a logged in user, displayed from a “Dashboard” which will allow users to see at a glance, if a message is waiting them, or if the Auto Bidder is active, or how many bids are left in their account.

Additionally, an older version of CakePHP is residing in the system. It is not a convention install, but essentially patched together. It is needful that the CakePHP be updated to stable 2.0.3 version, although a very good understanding of CakePHP will be required to remove the previously cobbled install as to replace with a fresh and correct install. The install needs to be conventional, one that will allow proper and easy updates at a later date. The JQuery also needs updated to 1.7, and all functions pointing to that update. In effect, the backend needs a good cleaning, useless files removed, old graphics removed, anything left over by other developer attempts. Yes, the base code has been through a number of revisions, and as developers are typically careless and messy, unused files and “bak” files are strewn all over.

The framework will require some edits, in that the CSS needs modified to display side advertising. As new artwork is developed, other details and concise edits are required to fit the graphics provided. Therefore a profound understand of Cascading Style Sheets and MVP style CakePHP skillsets are a must. Bidding developer should have good logic skills and even better English comprehension skills. The developer must be able to think on their own, without proverbial hand holding for every detail. Precise instructional outlines are always provided detailing project requirements.

Some design skills are a plus, at least for good CSS layout. The graphics will be provided otherwise, whereas this project is code intensive by nature. Guessing 20 to 30 hours as a whole, over three weeks. Payment sure, and tips certain for those of proven skill. We are highly rated company on Scriptlance under “Inndesign” with 10 stars.
