Hello, I am a self employed individual looking to work with someone to create a decision engine.
The two main parts would be 1.) polls with a variety of voting options (first past the post, ranked choice, and other promising or experimental models) and 2.) Liquid democracy (allowing others to vote on your behalf and even being able to fraction out that 1 vote to infinitely small portions).
I understand that I am likely not painting a clear picture. I apologize.
One might imagine a teacher in a classroom trying to decide what sort of party to throw to celebrate the students' success. She can hold a simple vote after researching affordable ootions and whichever choice gets the most will win, yes. But Tommy doesn't care so he is going to dissolve his vote equally among the group (except for Suzie who always wants liver, even on ice cream).
And the teacher knows that pizza usually wins not because it gets more than 50 percent, but because no other choice gets more than the 33 percent pizza always gets. So she has people rank each choice.
Then, round one takes the choice that got the least amount of first choices and applies those votes to their second choice. This continues until 50 percent (or another variable target) is achieved.
I suspect this would be a non-complex website to set up as (according to my vast ignorance) all the tools are in existence (open source liquid democracy and voting software seem readily available I just seem to get lost when trying to learn to put them together).
Any feedback is welcome as I am more than happy to entertain the possibility that I am being rather foolish even in the framing of this request.
Thank you for your time
