Hello developers, my name is Mike and I'm looking for an experienced web developer who can build my boss and I a great site.
My boss wants a site where musicians small and large can promote themselves and people who host venues or books shows can find them. That's the basic idea.
So if you're a musician you would come to this site and create an account and add information pertaining to your location, what kind of music you play, and how far you're willing to travel.
Then if you're a person who needs a band to play at your next event you would have an account and look up people in your city or state that are available and have access to their contact information.
That's what we want. There's a site out there right now called [login to view URL] that does pretty much the same thing. We just heard about gigsalad and we're not trying to copy them, but we want to reference what they're doing and try to implement the same thing. Only we're targeting musicians for our site. So I would recommend you look at gigsalad and see what it's like so you get the picture of how we want to cater to users.
We have already developed a site, but we weren't so successful and we need a makeover badly. We'll talk more about that if this is something you would like to do.
Also, we want to make some money through this site by charging users to do things like add content such as videos or have users pay a small fee for contact information for a band. We don't want to charge much and we would like to beat the prices of gigsalad.
I have friends who travel and play music and they aren't rich. We want to target the average person who has small band or bars who are looking for bands to play for a Friday or Saturday night. That's where we would like to start to gather a user base for our site.
I hope you have a picture now of what our site should look and feel like. Please get in touch as soon as you can. We don't mind developers outside of the US. Just know that this site is for people in the United States and users will be looking for people pertaining to their location.
That's all I have for now. All we ask is you take this seriously and help us out. And also, we don't want to use Wordpress.
