I have a small (128Gb) Dell Laptop which I use as a server, running Windows Server 2008 R2.
The server hosts my site IdealHoroscope.com.
Total disk space used is 8Gb.
The laptop is connected via cable to a modem, which also feeds my iMac.
I need a system that will c-l-o-n-e the server to a bootable USB drive, then make incremental backups every day.
Do not suggest Windows Server Backup, because that program does not even recognise my USB drive, even though the drive shows up under My Computer.
I prefer a home made job, rather than a commercial app, but I will consider paying for software if you can show me that it will work.
Even if you deliver something that only c-l-o-n-e-s the disk initially, then you give me script that updates all the daily changes via a cron job with rsync, that will be OK.
I don't want anything that backs up to an ISO, ZIP, TAR, GZ or any other type of bundle that would need to be restored.
The task must result in a BOOTABLE USB drive that will run if my laptop fails.
The program Super Duper is a good example of what I want, but it only runs on Macs.
Please give a few details about your plan in your application.
