We use the “WP To Do” Plugin to manage tasks for our website. We require a custom Admin Dashboard widget to be built for our site which displays information from this plugin.
WHAT WE REQUIRE
We require you to build a separate plugin which displays the following information from “WP TO DO” on the admin dashboard (in a table form).
Heading of Widget: “TASKS”
First Column: The first column with have a heading “Title” and will display the title of the task. The title will be clickable and redirect to the following page: ~ plugins\wp-todo\templates\view_task.php. This field will display a maximum 20 characters, before cutting off the rest of the title.
Second Column: The second column will have the heading “Deadline” and will display the deadline date for the task. This should be displayed in the following format “June 15, 2021”
Third Column: The third column will have the heading “Mark as Completed”. The purpose of this column will be to change the status of the Task from “New” (which is what all our tasks are set too) to “Closed” in the database. So each Task will have an empty tick box next to it in the row. When the user clicks the box, a tick will appear and you will use JS to update the database so that task is marked as “Closed”. Note: we do not require the list be refreshed upon marking an item as “Closed”, however if you believe this is easy to do with AJAX then we would happily discuss it.
Order of Tasks in the Widget: The table of tasks will be ordered by (First) the deadline of the task and (second) followed by the priority (highest to lowest). The table will then be sorted by oldest to newest.
Task to be shown in Table: Only tasks listed with the post status of “new” will be displayed.
Maximum Number of Tasks to Display: The table will display a maximum of 6 tasks (with the status of new).
NOTE: The list will continue to display ‘past deadline’ tasks IF they are listed as new.
We have attached an image of what we would like the widget to look like as well as a copy of the plugin. In order to ensure we are able to update, we require all the changes to be made within the plugin you build, do not make changes to WP To Do’s original code.
