Debug API connection Spotify/Wordpress

Job Description:
Wordpress website uses Spotify API to retrieve information when placing a Woocommerce order. Spotify recently changed some authentication requirements of the API connection, and we need someone to fix the issue.
The error we get is: "The access token expired" when we do the call "custom_spotify_fetch_artist".
