I have a project I have been working on and have found a hurdle. I am looking to hire an experienced wordpress consultant that I can have a session with for maybe 1 hour to talk through my particular issue and discuss a fix.
Here is my problem for solving - Site Overview: A WP site created for the purpose of searching for students in a university. The user will search for "John Soap" and the results will return each university he attends, what courses he is part of, and also display specific links relevant to that student (stored as urls).
The site structure is as follows: Each 'post' is a course - in each post we have ACFs for the name of the associated university, desc of the course, duration, etc.
I then have a taxonomy for course location (country), and I am currently storing the student names as tags (since each course can have anything from 5 - 200 students enrolled).
The relevant urls that are associated with each student are currently sitting in a DB table. However, to comply with WP best practice, I want to get this data into the WP ecosystem, to have a 'clean' install. This is the problem I am trying to solve.
For my filtering and ajax searching I am using FacetWP. So in order for me to display the info in this way, how should I go about 'attaching' the url data to the student tags? The only alternative I have right now, is to integrate my working code into WP, but advise I have received has said that this would have an affect on performance, and surface some potential data security issues. If you think you have the chops to solve this issue, please get in touch. If you know how to do it, but don't have the time - we could have a consultation session, and then I could implement the solution as advised by yourself.
