Windows 8 Phone App for Basic Event Diary

Using C#/XAML/Windows Phone SDK, create an app for Windows Phone 8 that is a rather simple to use Diary for capturing notes and photos from a work site. From the MainPage, User is able to enter note and/or photo, which is transferred to an existing MYSQL database along with other related data. A left swipe opens the diary for the current date, showing all entries (downloaded from the same MYSQL database and on local phone memory). A calendar icon in the app bar, allows user to change date for either the Main Page, or the Diary page ([login to view URL]). I am expecting only basic design, with more focus on reliability and ease of use in the coding. I know basic coding, so will have a play afterwards to add the design aspects etc. I have attached a PDF of a concept that I sketched out, to give you a better idea of what is in my mind. If you have any suggestions/ideas, please suggest them. I have a website set up, that will also use the data from the same MYSQL database (also existing), so there is no need to create or develop the MYSQL database, unless you require something for testing purposes.
