How to Communicate with Freelancers
You can discuss your project with freelancers before awarding them. This way, you can determine which freelancers will be most suitable for the work that you need.
You can only communicate with a freelancer if you have an ongoing project with them or if they have placed a bid on one of your projects. Once you see a freelancer you want to contact, simply click Chat on their bid.
You’ll be able to tell if they are online by the round online indicator (green if they are online, gray if they are offline). Only the employer can start a conversation while the project is not yet awarded. So, as the employer, you may inquire about freelancers’ proposals and their qualifications, etc.
When you click Chat, a chat window will appear on the lower right side of your screen. You can then start exchanging messages with your bidder!
Both the employer and freelancer can upload files (the maximum file size is 256 MB) through the insert attachment feature at the bottom. Just drag and drop the file you want to send or click the attachment icon.
There is also a convenient Award button available if you decide to choose the freelancer for the project.
If the freelancer is not online, your messages to them will still be sent and they will be able to read it as a private message on their Inbox once they log in to their account.
