Web Services ManagerMar 2007 - Jun 2009 (2 years)
I was responsible for over-seeing the work of two other graphic designers and a web developer. My role involved project managing a vast amount of print and web design projects (over 200 customers), liaising with clients and organising quotations and design proposals. The role required me to cross-sell products such as printing, websites, vehicle graphics and embroidery. I worked on corporate branding projects for the company, presenting ideas for logos, business stationery and websites to clients. I continu
ManagerJun 2006 - Mar 2007 (9 months)
As manager of the print shop, my time was split between graphic designing and day-to-day tasks such as ordering paper stocks, maintaining a Xerox digital press and I supervising two members of staff. The shop was also the first point of contact for anyone looking to publish a book so I was often involved in designing book covers and page layouts. I gained valuable book publishing experience here and went on to publish my very own sports book which sold over one thousand copies in 2007.
Graphic DesignerMar 2004 - Jul 2006 (2 years)
A slight change in career direction with a switch to the printing industry where I worked with an experienced graphic designer who helped me make the switch, with new skills such as working with InDesign, Illustrator as well as improving my work in Photoshop. On a day-to-day basis I dealt with clients, large and small, usually with very specific design briefs. The work had great variation; logo design, business stationery, advertising, brochures and magazine design.
Web DesignerJan 1999 - Apr 2004 (5 years)
After leaving college I worked at an Edinburgh-based web design and development firm. In my role of junior web designer I learned basic coding skills, although the main basis of my work was graphic design using Photoshop/Freehand. Most projects I worked on were for small to medium sized businesses, however I did all the design work for the firm's flagship project, FriendSeeker, which was one of the first online dating agencies in Europe.
