Starting in 1987 on mainframes, I've worked with most types of systems including actually beta testing the world wide web prior to it's public launch. Several years ago I found that I can combine my two passions: art and computers, into one area: web development. Since doing so I've successfully designed, developed and made production several websites and niche social networks.

Portfolio

A site developed for a company that performs import and export compliance training. Site was completely written by hand in HTML, PHP and a little Javascript and AJAX. Includes a custom shopping area, drop down menus and a dynamically built training schedule based on input from the client through the simple admin interface. Front page picture is a a scrolling set of 4. Under the Training Partner Of The Year Video is a scrolling list of testimonials. Each training program expands further for a description. All is integrated into client's paypal account for easy payment.

Site for a web design company. Background of header scrolls so that the phoenix and the title appear to be floating. Center is a newsreader that links to the other pages of the site.

Phoenix Systems Resources

A social network based on the white label framework called SocialEngine. All templates, designs, modifications, customization and entire front end were done by me. Front page includes fading drop down menus, a scrolling banner, several areas for compartmentalization of data and designs, a scrolling menu of pictures featuring newly added members.

Fantastic experience, after putting Rick through the ringer I saw what he was capable of so I gave him a try and was not disappointed even thought he had zero reputation on FL. I'm going to keep him in my stable and bring him out to race as often as possible!

PHP Software Update (part II)

For this project I was looking for someone to take over for my previous coder who had managed working on my $13k+ software so I was extremely carefully when selecting a brand new coder to work with. So why would I settle on Rick to work on such expensive software if he had zero feedback and was a new provider on FL? Simple. Not only does he have significant PHP experience, but his communication is EXCELLENT :) Not only was this project handled by him deftly and precisely, but he went above and beyond by creating some new code, he streamlined and cleaned up the old code, plus he recoded an entire significant block of code that I thought was functional (but wasn't). So will I hire Rick again to work for me? YES, we have already discussed the very next project we'll work on so it's already planned lock, stock, and barrel to have him completely replace by old coder for the long term! Thanks for your quick work and solid communication Rick :)
