I am Connor Jenings an experienced 3D and 2D Industrial Designer and Draftsman. My entire life I have looked at the world with curiosity of why anything works and how it was made, and why is it designed this way and not another. I want to be able to combine my creative mind with practical skills I have gained to design for the real world. To me design is ensuring longevity, sustainability, and creativity, I want anything I design to last generations. I believe for too long unoriginal and wasteful practices have been seen from simple everyday items to even housing. I hope to bring back designing with intent and thoughtfulness for the people involved and the surrounding environment.
Throughout my design and engineering career, I have been involved in many high-end building developments. While working at one of the top 3 Office and Healthcare Furniture Companies in North America, I developed and engineered a new line of healthcare and mental health centre furniture such as: reception desks, chemo bay nurses stations, and lobby seating and side tables; as well as bedroom furniture which included special beds, wardrobes, bedside tables etc for mental health centres. In my most recent work, I design and detail drawings for a custom metal fabrication shop. This has me designing steel structures such as: walking and road bridges, shade structures, and other civil engineering steel structures for cities and conversations. Along side this, I also design custom metal work for residential private homes and for small and large architect or landscaping firms such as: railing, pergolas, gates, artwork, mailboxes and many other interesting and creative projects.
Designed various custom welded steel and aluminum structures including: Vehicle bridges, shade structures, fencing, railings and many more custom pieces of work. This would be done following Architectural, landscaping, structural engineering and customer drawings and communication. On top of the design I would also be involved with the project management aspect by producing BOMs, drawing packages to manufacturer, receiving appropriate engineer stamps, and hardware and special item sourcing.
