When I grew up my family used to spend the Christmas holidays in the dynamic landscape of the northern part of the Swedish province of Dalarna. When the holiday ended and the teacher asked us to draw a picture from our holiday, I drew mountains and valleys. Fjäll & dal is a bench in Swedish pine, celebrating a beautiful landscape, capturing a my childish way of drawing the landscape, a reminder to embrace the childish notion inside, called creativity. The wood is sawed in a technique called "star sawing" that gives the wood standing annual rings which makes it more shape and time durable. Design: Patrik Eriksson Carpentry: Marcus Karlsten, Möbelspecialen, Lammhult Exhibited at the 2010 Stockholm Furniture Fair as a part of the Furniture Kingdom of Småland Sweden's Green Design project.
