I earned my BFA in Graphic Design from Marietta College in 2012. I currently work as the in-house designer for the West Virginia Education Association. The West Virginia School Journal is a publication produced by the West Virginia Education Association. The Journal is an all-member publication intended both to update members on important, ongoing topics in education and to be to used as a tool to inform non-members about education's need for support. The 2014 Edition of the WV School Journal focused on the the WVEA's campaign for competitive pay for teachers and education staff. The magazine featured articles on education professionals that have been forced to take second jobs, leave the state, or even leave the field of education all-together in order to make ends meet. This Texas-inspired spice collection is packaged in hot sauce bottles and includes five different spices any grill master would love. The intent of this collection is to stand out on the shelf, as these containers do not have the typical spice bottle look. The unique packaging makes this novelty collection fun and giftable.

MELVIN'S TEXAS GRILL SPICE COLLECTION Packing Design

This logo was the outcome of a personality study. The individual described herself as a hyper, nature-loving person who is attracted to bright colors. The colors chosen are of the hues found in nature, however vividly enhanced. The butterfly portion represents hyperactivity, similar to the flutter of wings, as well as the attraction to color. The leaf portion represents the flora category of all living things.

During the 2015-2016 school year, the West Virginia Education Association celebrated their 150th anniversary. The logo shown here was designed and used for all print materials throughout the year. The WVEA, headquartered in Charleston, WV, has resided at its current location since 1955. The building, constructed for the sole purpose of being the WVEA headquarters, displays a relief carving of a torch over its front doors. The torch is symbolic of education in that it represents enlightenment through learning.

This logo redesign concept was created for a CrossFit gym in St. Albans, WV. The term "firebreather" is represented in a literal sense, as a dragon. Members of this gym often refer to it as the abbreviated, "FF," which is more subtly displayed within the wing structure of the creature.
