I'm an Electronics Engineer, also with experience in the field of Robotics. I have worked at Siemens VDO on embedded software for automotive applications, and done a Masters thesis at the Timisoara Polytechnics in collaboration with the German Aerospace Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics on sensor fusion applied to input devices and control for robots and virtual reality environments. Currently doing a PhD at the Timisoara Polytechnic University on Motion Planning. Also doing freelance work as a software developer.

Collaborated with German Aerospace Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics in the medical robotics laboratory. Developped sensor fusion algorithms and sensor electronics for testbenches of such. Developping and doing maintenance on a system to measure and balance the loads on the wheels of a locomotive or train car in collaboration with ADAM ElTenso, a Romanian company.

Software Developper

Apr 2005 - Aug 2007 (2 years)

Worked on bootloaders, compression algorithms, and communication transport layers over CAN between microcontrollers inside an automobile.

BSc Electronics

Certificate in Advanced English (2001)

University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate

Language certification for English as a foreign language. To quote the explanation given in the statement of results, "Successful CAE candidates are expected to be able to use the structures of English with ease and fluency. They can cope confidently in most situations that would arise in an English-speaking country, socially, professionally and in higher education, and express opinions and take part in discussions in a culturally acceptable way."

Towards accurate motion compensation in surgical robotics

Scientific paper presenting a refinement on the control and sensor fusion algorithms described in the IROS paper; a marker needs to be seen by one camera to provide some information on the robot's, or user's, movement. Presented at ICRA 2010. Co-authored by Tobergte, A. Frohlich, F.A. Pomarlan, M. Hirzinger, G.

Robust Multi Sensor Pose Estimation for Medical Applications

Scientific paper describing a sensor fusion approach to tracking a robot end effector and the benefits resulting from the application of the system. Presented at IROS 2009, co-authored by Tobergte, Andreas and Pomarlan, Mihai and Hirzinger, Gerd.
