My name is David Sakkinen and I am an American (native English speaker) male voice talent. I record voice over for video tutorials, entertainment news, business to business VSL, explainer videos, story narration, poetry reading, e-learning content, guided meditations and IVR auto-attendant messages. My elearning experience also includes specific character performance for role-play dialogues. There are samples of my voice below! It was necessary to quote an hourly rate on this platform, but given that the deliverable is measurable in terms of word count or length of the recording, I prefer negotiating prices per audio file using milestones. For long-term, high volume collaborations, I am amenable to weekly payments for content delivered and negotiating exceptionally agreeable rates for steady, reliable work. I'm always happy to record a short audition sample for your project if you wish to share a portion of your script with me. I'm available now! Let's collaborate!

Freelance Voice Talent -- Full Time!

Sep 2018

During the summer of 2018, my love for literature got me started on a project to create recorded narrations of American literature. While researching how to improve my product, I discovered the demand for voice content in English, dropped the podcast idea, and entered the freelance marketplace. I built a customer base of long-term clients that sustain me in this exciting career development and I went full-time in December 2018. But, I still have time available daily to add to my workload!

Warehouse Worker and Office Assistant

Jul 2018 - Dec 2018 (5 months)

I started low as a warehouse worker because I am still learning Portuguese. I did speak with sufficient fluency to function well within the company and I had moved up to applying some of my professional exerience internally, and worked on IT solutions for their operation and assisted in the composition or proofreading and editing of documents and correspondence that need to be in English.

Store Manager -- Commercial Sales Call Center Agent

Jul 2008 - Sep 2014 (6 years)

The store manager responsibilities were generally the same as described above in my Fisher Auto Parts summary, except that the store had already been established by a previous manager and I simply took over operations for him. The call center project was a new build though. The company had not yet established a system for working remotely to promote commercial sales for several stores from a central call center. I was an important part of that development team.

Carpenter, Auto Parts Specialist, Adult Literacy Tutor

Jul 1997 - Jun 2008 (10 years)

During these years I was generally working two part time jobs or had one part time job and was going to school. During summers I had both a job in an auto parts store where I worked evening shifts and weekends, and during the day I was framing houses with a construction company. Fall, winter, spring I was taking college courses and continuing to work in auto parts store nights and weekends. After my education was complete, I filled some of my spare time with work as a volunteer literacy tutor.
