Taking Jericho is a Christian rock band based in Calgary.

The band began performing contemporary worship songs in Sunday service at the Rocky Mountain Church of Christ in 2012. We soon realized that we had our own message that we wanted to share through our music and began writing and recording original compositions.

In spring 2013 they we came together and shot their very first music video. We shot in several locations for three days. At the end I had 2.5 hours of footage. Everything was filmed in Alberta with my D7000, shoulder rig, a 35mm f2.8 and a 55-105mm f.1.4 lenses. In post-production I did a minimum of colour-correction.

Please visit takingjericho.com - The band is currently crowd funding a new CD.

Music video Taking Jericho

Its been a long time since my last post but I have good reason for it! I had a couple of video shootings in the last weeks, mainly music videos. Unfortunately, I did not have time yet to edit them as my day job is very time consuming.

However, during a BBQ on the weekend me and my buddy Dale decided to work together and get some videos done. We met last Thursday and shot for 6 hours straight – well, including a couple of drinks…

It was quiet windy on that day (thanks Calgary!) but the sun was out and we had some beautiful lightning for our shots. It was the first time I took out my new shotgun microphone and I am still figuring out the perfect settings but I really like the first results we got with that.

After a couple of hours in the editing room I am very happy to upload the first of the three videos.

I participated in the YYC design contest from CalgaryIsAwesome today. It was initialized by Jason Dorn to create a new design for the Twitter hashtag YYC (#yyc). As a local I felt I needed to participate and had lots of fun creating my own design today. I decided to keep it simple and straight forward. The Calgary Tower was a must have in my design and I quiet like how it turned out.
