Riley, a young lawyer in Savannah Georgia, works to maintain the city's rich history. When she meets a mysterious man named Brayden, she uncovers a part of Savannah that she never knew existed. Brayden is a vampire with a modern day twist. Through a series of flashbacks, he relives his previous lives into understanding who and what he has become over the centuries. He comes from a bloody and murderous past, but through Riley, he desires to become more human than monster. His love for her has him wanting to conquer this battle and be human again. With the added history of the Civil War, Brayden is a complex character one loves to hate. His monstrous side erupts in his sexual conquest of Riley, for she is completely smitten by his desires. With twists and turns, and truths coming to light, Riley has to make a decision that could cost her, her life. Through sexual discovery and uncovering Brayden's dark and bloody past, she quickly realizes there is more to this city than meets the eye.
