I am Anna Shuey, and I am a young eager Graphic Designer and Artist. I have my Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Harrisburg Community College. My favorite projects to work on are for social issues and non profit organizations. My favorite things to design include posters, book covers, and logos. If your project is in print than I can do it. I have been working with the Adobe Creative Suite since sophomore year of high school, so I am extremely comfortable working in Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I also do fine art, illustration, and photography work. I have basic HTML knowledge, however I do not consider myself a web designer. These posters were created for the United Nations Millennium goals. For both posters I wanted to convince people to volunteer in developing countries. The first poster is for primary education, so I used a child's notebook with incorrect math problems on it. The child is happy because they do not know any better and want to learn. I tore the page into the shape of Africa because most of the areas that need help are there. The second poster is for the child mortality goal. I used the idea of a flat line, something doctors are familiar with. In order to stress that it will be children being helped I used simple images associated with young children, who are often the ones that die.

Stefan Sagmeister is a professional graphic designer. This was a poster to advertise a lecture that he gave at Penn State Harrisburg. Sagmeister is a well traveled, eccentric designer, often using extreme elements, such as nudity, in his work. To capture the sense of travel, I used the statue o David. Then to capture Sagmeister's eccentric design, I made it look like the head was knocked off of the statue. I then used words that were discussed during his lecture as a texture at the top. The event was held by the Society of Design, so i used the pink color used by their organization.

The idea was to compare beating someone up in a video game with beating someone in real life. I used video games because it is something that a lot of teenagers play. Purple is the color for domestic abuse awareness so I used it as the only color. I wanted to keep the posters gender neutral because males can be abused as well, and so it could also apply for people in same sex relationships.
