Architects deal with Gravity as an ever-present force challenging them to cultivate new possibilities It possess certain restrictions on the morphology of human bodies. Our bodies would have been very different if gravity had not existed. Similarly, man made structures need to be balanced by cancelling its forces of momentum. The forces acting by the gravitational force is neutralized by the opposite upward reaction produced. Compression and tension act hand in hand, keeping the structure static at a point. This project aims to study how gravity plays a major role in architecture, being one of the major intangibles. A visually precarious structure is built to stand on an edge by balancing the forces acting on it. The center of gravity of the structure is obtained by hanging it from three unique fulcrum points.

Stairs are beyond only connections between the floors of a building. they serve as props for expressing the ideas of the architect. stairs are utilitarian but can also be sculptural and poetic. they establish functionality while embodying the thoughts of their author. further -more, their material, form and interaction with the human body make them an extremely tactile affair. space is generated by extending lines in the 3 axes, followed by creating a series of planes, relating each other. 3 dimensionality is achieved through intersecting the planes in respective axes.

An exercise to design five unique prayer rugs for each namaz, focusing on the geometric abstraction of planes extracted from distinguishing contact points of the body when in prayer. Use of color coordinated with the movement of sun enhances the geometric patterns.

Urban values are never considered when it comes to designing a given space in Lahore. The need for fulfilling requirements are more important than thinking of the impact or the experience the space will imply on the user. Memorable experiences attracts the user to enjoy it again, rather than thinking of just getting the purpose of visit to be completed.

The visuals focus on the relation between two distinct dimensions, complemented by use of the design fundamentals of architecture. The film is about a ball which is in constant motion throughout, shifting its state and the setting around it from 2D to 3D. The intangibles of architecture are used and set to support the idea, helping the subject to complete its journey. The ball is in the constant phenomena of metamorphosis, being flat at one instant and cliometric at the other. The whole film reinforces the idea of how an experiential material setting conveys the spatial quality which through only drawing is not achievable. Similarly, architecture is felt when an idea takes the material for it to exist physically. On the other hand, drawings may convey a certain detail but lacks the overall experience. Alterations applied to gravity, light, scale and time help the narrative to proceed in a fluid manner. LINK : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnOQDvbZ360
