Client needed a WIndows application that could connect to a number of remote *nix hosts via SSH, gathering specific information.

The software logs the output in flat text, CSV, XML and XLSX in various layouts. It can connect to a single host or multiple if a host list file is supplied in csv format.

Compiled to a standalone executable for easy portability.

Unix administration Tool

Client needed a custom .NET control developed to add to an existing VB.NET project.

Requirement was the ability to drag a 'box' around an image, limited to its boundaries, showing the center location of the box itself.

The location and size of the box was to be relative to the actual dimensions of the image, not the size of the control on screen, even when the form is resized.

Delivered the control source code, a sample project using the control, and detailed PDF document outlining the usage, and the property definitions of the new control.

Custom .NET Winforms Control

Client wanted the ability to make changes to his Product database from within Excel.

As a proof of concept I designed an Excel Userform, with underlying VBA using ADO to read, write, and add records to the existing Access database. The Form was accepted. and 2 more have been developed and implemented to manage data from within the Excel workbook.

The form displays the product image from disk. The imagebox has a right click menu that allows editing of the image, and pasting a new image from the clipboard. The user can also browse to an existing image on disk.

A listbox emulating a grid is used for entry of bulk prices.

Excel Quote Userform

Client had 100's of pages of PDF documents containing data in a specific format which he required to be in Excel. The data was contained within tables, with not all fields populated so a simple PDF to Text conversion would not be possible.

Using location based extraction techniques, a VB.NET application was developed to accurately produce an output file, regardless of whether all fields in the table were present.

Added some features, that I felt my client would find useful. The ability to convert multiple files at once, by browsing using a file dialog or 'drag and drop' from windows explorer, the ability to output all converted files to a single Excel document, and dual progress bars to display the current files progress, as well as the overall progress of a multi file conversion.
