I'm a self-taught web & graphic designer. I first got into it a couple of years ago when a web designer friend of mine introduced me to it. I've learned mostly through books, magazines, online articles and tutorials. Last year I was working for a local company as a graphic/packaging designer and towards the end of the summer I decided to go freelance. I'm a perfectionist at heart and I pay a lot of attention to detail. As a design sucker I can't stand coming across really poorly designed sites.
