The PC Operations NC II Qualification consists of competencies that will allow effective and efficient use of personal computers where use of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software is required including access to email and the use of web browsers for searching and locating data and information on the Internet. The modules in this program will be delivered through (a) interactive discussions in the classroom utilizing visual aids and other teaching materials to gain the knowledge and (b) laboratory classes to acquire the required skills and competencies. Take home reading assignments may also be given from time to time. Specifically, some of the teaching methodologies to be utilized are: o Interactive lecture and discussion o Problem solving o Simulation (hands-on machine problems and exercises) o Individualize learning o On-the-job training The trainees/students are expected to: o Operate a word-processing application. o Use email and search the web using browsers. o Operate a spreadsheet application. o Operate a presentation package. Upon completion of this course, the trainees/students with the necessary competencies, should be able to perform the duties, responsibilities and acquired attitude relevant to the job titles of a: o PC operators, o Data-entry encoders and typists, or o Office clerks and assistants
