I am seeking positions in two main fields: 1. Translation from French to English. I have an M.A. degree in French and also had attended the Alliance Française for many years, taking many different classes, including a year long business class preliminary to taking the exam (which I passed) for the Certificat Pratique de Français Commercial et Economique from the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris. I also took two translation classes where we translated French to English and English to French. I would prefer the former as it is always easier to translate into one's own language and I am exceedingly proficient grammatically in English and have an excellent vocabulary. I am very dedicated to whatever I do and try to do my utmost to do the best job possible. 2. Photography and Photoshop. I live in Mexico (and have a working knowledge of Spanish) and I am a fairly well known photographer here (my work has been shown in many galleries in the U.S. and Mexico). I have recently been featured (again) in the February 2014 Special Edition of Black & White magazine. I teach both photography and Photoshop classes. I wrote articles on photography for a local magazine, The Lake Chapala Review (no longer in existence). As with translation (and whatever I do) I am committed to excellence. For Photography, please check out my website at 3. Real estate. Commercial sales and leasing (both office and retail leasing). Residential sales. I was in the real estate business in a large city in the United States for over 16 years. I was the owner/broker/manager of a commercial real estate company during many of those years. I also spent 8 years doing real estate related business for telecommunications companies (like Sprint and Verizon Wireless). I did site acquisition, zoning and leasing and also supervised the construction company that was erecting the cell towers.

Jan 2012

I started to study French in high school. I continued my studies in college, getting a B.A. and M.A. degrees in French from the University of Illinois. Over the years, I have been a member of the Alliance Française in Chicago for many years, as well as New York and Boston. Among other studies, I took a year's course in French business practices in order to obtain the Certificat Pratique de Français Commercial et Economique. This 5 hour exam is administered once a year all over the world (on the same d

Jul 2003 - Feb 2014 (10 years)

When I moved to Mexico in 2003, I turned a long time avocation into a profession. I am a photo artist who uses Photoshop extensively in my art and other photographic services that I do. I have been included in many quality galleries both in the U.S. and Mexico and have been featured twice in Black & White magazine. I regularly teach photography and Photoshop (and used to write a monthly article on photography for a local magazine.). I have done wedding and event photography, as well as portrait and famil

The Rendija Taller Visual is a photo gallery, school of photography and publisher of photography books and appointment books. They are located in Guadalajara, Mexico. They hold a contest every year to determine the photo artists who will be included in their hard cover appointment book. I was featured twice, in 2006 and 2011.

The Emerging Artist

Janice Kimball, a local well known artist, originally from Chicago, is publishing a book that she wrote called "The Emerging Artist" featuring a number of local artists from the greater Lake Chapala, Mexico area. I was honored that she requested a photo and bio from me as well. The book will be published shortly and available on Amazon.
