Jeremy’s task as full-time employee was to upgrade and standardize all the sites, consolidate or eliminate superfluous functionality, and expand communications capacity. They needed a website that could serve as the nexus for their nation-wide grassroots which would empower users to share content with one another. We decided to use Organic Groups, a Drupal module that allows users to create their own groups, similar to Facebook groups. They also needed a website that was easy to use, and allowed content to be embedded from external sources. And of course, they also wanted a new look, and their old HTML site, as well as two active Drupal sites, to be merged into one. They needed a secure system for users to add faculty research abstracts, along with the ability to create their own tags and maintain author profile pages. They also needed an email newsletter, and the ability to add new newsletters as well as manage subscriptions, along with blog space, a calendar, photo galleries, and normal multimedia functionality.
