Intelligent Public transport system The project uses a GPS at the vehicle’s end to get the vehicle location and then transmit it to the server. Thus, the server has a database of all the vehicles with their respective locations and other important information. Now, the user can access the information about any public vehicle depending on the source and the destination of the journey. .The client (User) communicates with the server through a user interface and the server upon encountering the request from the client will serve the contents of the particular public vehicle, that is the time the bus will arrive, the number of seats empty, the location of bus, route details etc. An embedded device or TI BeagleBone that supports multithreading is to be provided at Sub Base Station site to act as a sub- server. The laptop behaves as the mainserver. The location of multiple buses are displayed on a Google Map at the same time using Google maps APIs.
