## BIO # Computer science student and entrepreneur **Welcome to my worker profile.** My name is Michael Lind Mortensen and I'm a Danish undergraduate computer science student at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. I'm currently on my 6th semester, 5 points shy of starting my graduate studies. On top of this I run two companies on-and-off, both concerning security, networks and software development. My current plans for the coming future is to work, keep expanding my business and gain a Ph.d. in the field of cryptography. **Why pick me for your project?** With any partner, employee or consultant, there are a few things you would always want them to have: 1. Reliability 2. Experience 3. Expertise Usually even in that exact order. Well, I can give you exactly that! I have almost 10 years experience in the IT business starting from when I started fixing PC's in the early teens at an electronics store and created my first commercial websites around the mid-teens. Since then I've had several different types of positions with everything from simple web-development to server park design, security testing and advanced software development. And on top of all this, I've run a successful IT-security and development business for years and am now starting up a mobile security business. - So there's no lack of experience and drive! On top of experience, I have an (almost.. will be by august) completed bachelor in computer science, with me generally scoring top-grades and even teaching other students as a TA. This will most likely be topped off by a Ph.d. within the next few years - so expertise is also in great supply. And last but not least: I hate being late! I value meeting deadlines more than sleep and I never leave anyone hanging ;-) So without tooting my own horn too much, I would refer to myself as reliable. **FAQ** The following questions are likely to come up, so I might as well answer them straight away! * <u>You're from Denmark, so why does it say you're a native English speaker?</u> ::: *Because I'm fluent in English and a substantial part of my family is British and American, so I grew up with English and learned a lot, way before even attending school. I have an American accent, despite us having most of the international family in England and Italy.* ## Area of Expertise I'm experienced with many different technologies and work tasks, and will likely be able to adapt to your technology choice with little effort. However there are certain technologies I use more than others, with the following being the ones I use at least once a week: 1. Java 2. Python (especially Django) 3. GWT 4. HTML/XHTML etc. 5. JavaScript (especially JQuery) 6. Linux 7. FreeBSD 8. Windows 7 & Vista 9. Prototyping + User centered design techniques But again, these are just the ones I use every single week. I might very well have more than sufficient experience with your specific technology. So if I've made a bid on your project, I probably have the relevant experience and expertise.
