Create four infographics for "Boligkravet 2013". The infographics is to be used in social media and the website www.boligkravet.no up to the election 2013. Boligkravet is setting a requirement for the state to build 4000 more student housings in Norway next year.

Concept
-
Each one of the infographics have it's own theme or argument. I decided to make two characters that represent the students and illustrations for the houses in the same style. Velferdstinget wanted the infographics to be simple and intuitive so I decided to make it simple, geometrical with some humour to get the point through.

I need a mascot that will help me to make decisions. I want it to have a function as well, so I can use it physically. I created a mascot with two sides, with a stamp on each side. It has two personalities. Ooh! which is the idealist stands for optimism and positivity, he is a yes-person whit a good imagination. He is good to have in the start of a process to get motivation and to go with the flow.

Ok. is the realist, he base himself on facts and is judgmental. He is strict and helps me to get rid off the ideas that are just ok. You need a little bit of both sides in different parts of your life and in a process to make good decisions.

Visual Identity
-
The core values for the mascot is:
two sided, playful, active, systematic and supportive.

The name DUOO stands for two; double sided, stick together, two parts, mirrored and intersection. I wanted it to have to o´s because of the two characters name that starts with o' and it gives the name more character.

We got a text from a book. We did not know the name of the writer nor the title. From the text we had to create three illustrations using only typefaces symboling sad, neutral and happy. And then design three book layouts with the illustrations and text which represented the same emotions through format, typography, visual details and paper quality.

The Concept
-
The text was about a girl who felt sad and pointless, because her husband was not there for her. She misused sleeping pills to make it all feel better and her husband came home to find her with an empty box of pills. They went to the hospital where she got taken care off.

I wanted to tell the story about the girls feelings and what the drug was doing to her, playing with the saying half full/half empty. Therefore I represented here as a bird that sits on the box of pills. In the first illustration she is sad and empty and the box is full. The birds tail and head is facing down.
