Coming from a multicultural family, I have always been fascinated by the idea of “the foreigner” and foreign languages. I was too young to understand, but learning other languages and, consequently, new doors to other worlds, has always fascinated me. My first experiences were very organic, I had never formally studied any language.
First my family experiences with my German and Austrian grandparents, then with the Cuban ballet school, and my years abroad training with Germans, Russians and English, exposed me even more, mostly to Spanish, German and English. When I started giving private English lessons and then at language schools, I started to dedicate myself more deeply to teaching and the linguistic structures of each language.
During my two years International Relations studies I worked with translations at the university and worked for some independent projects and other volunteering ones for translations and subtitles for documentaries. I lived five years in Germany, six months in the United Kingdom, one year in Portugal and one year in the Netherlands.
Nowadays I teach English, German and Portuguese as a second language and I mainly do translations from English to Portuguese, Portuguese to English, German to English and German to Portuguese.
I’m back to university, and I’m currently studying Literature and Linguistics in Brazil.
