Lowe’s import growth has been in excess of 150% over the last three years and is estimated to continue to grow at twice the rate of sales. The core of this $6.7 Billion Retail dollar Lowe’s business is not running on IT supported systems, but primarily on Access databases; and, manually created and maintained spreadsheets. This business supported environment provides little cross department visibility and adds a high degree of risk to sensitive and business critical information. In addition, the only method for increasing shipment volumes is by adding resource and through business investment in time to enhance and support their technical infrastructure.
This business process provides the ability to fulfill merchandising needs through the purchase order management process. The purchasing solution covers processes that pertain to the creation and maintenance of purchase orders. Future state process diagrams included within this document are as follows:
