As a former employee of a New York Times Company, I've had the opportunity to develop Wordpress sites that break the mold of conventional blogging sites. The design makes extensive use of custom post types, custom fields, and custom taxonomies. Also features a jquery slider and custom page layouts for each custom post type. 5: [login to view URL] A user generated news site... has not launced yet but provides some examples of facebook connect and content submission using Wordpress. 6: [login to view URL] This is a port over from a static HTML design to a Wordpress theme! AWARDS I also recently received recognition from the Florida Society of News Editors for a site [login to view URL] for Innovation that drives digital audience. This site was built on Wordpress to support a local weight loss contest similar to the nationally known Biggest Looser! [login to view URL] [login to view URL] OTHER NON WORDPRESS Other sites I’d like to include for review are two of my personally run sites. While not built on Wordpress they do demonstrate abilities. [login to view URL] [login to view URL] MISC A site I was recently contracted to setup using the Shoutback Daily Deal platform for the Gainesville Sun also demonstrated css and JavaScript exploits to achieve a look not supported natively by their system.
