I have been doing full-stack Ruby on Rails development for about 5 years. Most of my experience has been working with startups, so I enjoy wearing many hats and getting involved in both front-end and back-end development. The common thread is that I seek a challenge from which I can learn. I like to think about the big picture, and help people on the business side find the little things they may have missed. In addition to coding, I can to contribute to UI / UX / API design.

$The Whoot (“Who’s Out Tonight”) was a social app which allowed users to easily share their plans for the night. They had front end mobile developers but no back end support. I collaborated with one other developer on the creation of Ruby on Rails API’s for The Whoot iOS and Android apps. I created and styled the web interface for posting plans, which used the same API via AJAX. The Whoot\'s app was built and launched successfully with over 2,000 users posting / day at launch time.$

Spruceling was a children’s clothing company formed by me and two other entrepreneurs at DreamIt Ventures Startup Accelerator in Philadelphia.

As a technical co-founder, I collaborated to create the Spruceling site, which matched donors and recipients. This involved full stack Rails development, data management (PostgreSQL), design of the user interface, and interfacing with the Stamps.com API.

FolioHD needed an interface for users to add and re-order custom links in the navigation bar of their portfolio. They also discovered through user testing that users wanted full custom html pages as well.

I coded a drag-and-drop interface (see below) for reordering. Users can now link to external sites, galleries, or custom pages which they could create through a WYSIWYG editor.
