I graduated with a 3.78 GPA in Business Administration - Finance from The American University in Cairo, Egypt with the HSBC Public School Scholarship Fund in 2020. Mariam Mahmoud, born and raised in Egypt, is a social enthusiast. After her freshman year, she interned at the Commercial International Bank of Egypt at the Treasury department where she got to apply her theoretical knowledge to the complicated practical financial structure of the bank.
Mariam has been very active on campus with different student organizations. After working with Parikrama Learning Center in Bangalore, India for two months as a volunteer who educates underprivileged children, she joined the AUC Student Well-Being Department as a Peer Coach. She also worked abroad as an International Business Executive at BD Electronics Ltd. in Malta where she contributed to increasing the company's clients database, and she was awarded the “Intern of the month” title. Through these different leadership positions, Mariam was able to satisfy her needs for professional development as well as her passion for community service. She started working as an Ambassador for Mint by EGBank at her university where she can spread financial awareness among university students through giving lectures about financial literacy which developed her communication and leadership skills.
Mariam has been striving for academic and extracurricular excellence for more than three years through her hard work and perseverance. She was the first student from The American University in Cairo to be awarded the GBSN Award to attend the International Summer University at Vienna School of Economics and Business (WU) in July 2018, and she was also granted the Erasmus Plus Exchange Scholarship for Spring 2018 at Kozminski University in Warsaw.
Mariam is currently a full-time graduate student at Arizona State University, who also works as a Credit Risk Analyst at Finlease.
