Developed a Raspberry Pi application in Python that can visualise the load on maximum 16 different load-cells at once with the ability to arrange them on the screen in a meaningful manner.

The load cells are polled on the RS485 modbus RTU protocol.

Raspberry Pi load cell monitor via RS485 modbus RT

Implemented hardware and software to monitor cold water tank level, hot water tank temperatures and radiator pump control.

The cold water tank level is monitored by an ultrasonic sensor. The hot tank temperatures are monitored using 4 DS18B20 temperature sensors. The radiator pump relay is activated when the temperature in the radiator feed pipe exceeds a certain temperature.

Raspberry Pi Zero Water Monitor

This project was designed to investigate how chimpanzees respond to pattern solving.

I was involved in writing the Python software and helping solve hardware and design issues.

The software lights up 3 illuminated shaped buttons and provides 2 hints on screen that the chimp should not choose. The chimp gets food reward despatched by a stepper motor for a pressing the correct button or a sound for a wrong answer. The patterns get progressively more complex to challenge the chimp.

Chimpanzee Interactive Trial

Weather Station built according to the Raspberry Pi 'Build Your Own Weather Station' Project.

Featuring a custom manufactured interface board that I designed.

It captures the following data - humidity, air temperature, pressure, wind speed, wind direction, wind gusts, rainfall and ground temperature.
