My greatest asset in work is probably my gift of attention to detail. In my spare time these days I do volunteer work on [login to view URL] (OSM), improving their geodata mainly in areas I am very familiar with; it does not pay me anything, but I get great satisfaction out of it anyway. I have worked in the fields of GIS and cartography since 1992 and the vast majority of my software experience has been with ESRI software (ArcView, ARC/INFO,etc.). Employers have included a software company, the US Department of State, a major newspaper, a county government, and a real estate and GIS data provider. I have also produced and sold independent map projects and had various temporary and contract assignments in transportation, civil engineering, telecom and park authorities (park and trail maps). Prior to 1992 I gained a lot of experience in data entry and word processing, as well as advertising design.
