I am a recent computer science (BSc) graduate, wanting to be kept occupied with work during the summer before beginning my MSc in "Intelligent Systems". I have a big background in Linux systems (and other Unices), using *nix as both a day-to-day OS and also as a server/embedded systems OS. I am most comfortable writing Python code, although I'll settle for anything that's Turing-complete.

Identification and Production of Simple Tactile Gestures

This paper describes a method for identifying and producing three “simple” tactile gestures of “tap,” “poke” and “push”. The gesture data is collected from a large sample size of over 200 people using a small humanoid robot fitted with 648 capacitive sensors. A temporal pressure profile is produced for each tactile gesture and reproduced by the robot.
