After some initial additional keyword research, ad testing, plus some strategic use of negative terms we were able to quickly reduce his unit costs to an acceptable level. Initially we identified a slew of broad term keywords that were generating miss-aligned searches from the consumer side of his business. By controlling for these broad terms we were able to immediately increase his click rate, and quickly thereafter his quality scores. Subsequent refinement of his landing page using Optimizely plus an increased budget, raised his total monthly conversions significantly and while reducing conversions cost by 50%.
