I'm programming in Visual Basic and VBA. I have few years experience in automatic data extraction, analysis, sorting and filling, creating formulas, macros in Excel, Word and developing helpful Visual Basic applications for your needs. Usually I'm trying to get a better result, not a faster one.
Maybe a misunderstanding but my expectation was that when I ask for a macro to be developed, that I get to see the code of the macro; firstly because that is the scope of the project and secondly for security reasons. The freelancer bid for the job as described and accepted, but hid the code and refused to give access. His argument was that the code in his view is worth "much more" than what he was paid (after deduction of fees) and that if I "pay cheap, I get cheap". Given that the project task was to perform a structured, repetitive worksheet operation I can not see much potential for revolutionary IP in the code and have to assume that there may be ulterior motives in the refusal to grant access to the VBA code, which renders the product useless for me.
