For my project (which was training me, not coding), he was constructive in suggesting an alternative and better-grounded way forward compared to the questions I initially wanted answering, was good at making important concepts radically different to my previous experience understandable to me, was able to adjust to my level of ability and knowledge, brought a number of important issues to my attention, taught me in a way that would produce robust and scalable code, plus important conventions. He covered a lot of ground - in detail - in the time agreed, and was generous with his time and helpful with further sources of information. The bottom line is that this 1-2-1 tuition was an investment I am glad I made. Would I use him again, for tuition or coding I couldn't do myself? Definitely.
