Jul 2010Major Projects done - Process pulse check and redesign: we did a survey at ground level within organization and also similar industry setup to understand the gaps. Based on the findings redesigned the process, along with the implementation plan and guidance - Gap analysis & Improvements: Have done a detailed study of the current IT project management processes w.r.t. process definition, its implementation. After the study presented the detailed findings along with the process improvement plan and its implementation approach. This activity has resulted in 30% improvement in the overall project delivery cycle in schedule along with the bettr co-ordination between teams, lower resolution time, better capturing of the requirement and lesser customer complains. - Reusability Study: Organization has similar type of the projects in the sequences, still has the same turn-around time and similar defect trends. I conducted a detailed study at the architectural and design level of all the projects. Based on this developed a reusability model and high level design guidelines. An implementation plan was defined to execute these guidelines over the period of six months, so the various reusable components can be built as part of various projects lifecycle and gradual incorporation of the design guidelines. This whole exercise given approximately 40% reduction of effort while coding, review and testing time. Also defect density dropped by 25%/ - Another assignment included defining various Planning, implementation & sustenance measures for effective project management which resulted in substantial effort saving & quality outputs - HR Health-check and audit for an IT company. This company was being taken over by another company thus required a complete health-check of its HR processes and systems.
