This was a contract position with the following requirements: • To create a web application that allows a user to upload an excel file. • Parse all the data from each sheet in the excel file and import it into a normalized database. • Automatically association customer part numbers with manufacturer part numbers if one already exists. • Build an interface to allow the user to manually associate part numbers for the remaining unassociated items. • Allow the user to export the new data into Excel in order to be uploaded into their current SAP system. The Web application was written using ASP.NET, .NET 2.0, Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server Management Studio. 98% of it was written in VB.NET and 2% in CSharp.NET.
