This project was completed in the early weeks of my second year. I was assigned to design and model a residence.

Since the main purpose of this exercise was to learn Revit, I spent most of my efforts playing around with different materials. I tried assigning interesting stone and wood textures to interior surfaces. I also experimented with Revit's window placement tools, and ended up featuring the clerestory windows I added early on in the project. The end product turned out to be an appealing combination of rustic and modern design.

The entirety of this project was done using Revit. The intention was to become better aquainted with the program and it's features; such as, site layout, elevation, interior design and block placement.

Architectural Design Using Revit

The purpose of this project was to develop two different lighting 'modes' for a single space. Each of the two modes would create an opposite feeling in the room simply by changing the lighting scheme.

For this project I chose to design the lighting for a yoga studio. In one image, the lighting is held toward the center of the room to create a sense of closure. In the other image the lights are located on the perimeter. This draws the eye from edge to edge and the room, making it seem more spacious.

The two parts of the project were to build a physical scale model (shown on the top of both images) and then to model the room using a computer program (shown on the bottom). For my 3D model, I used AutoCAD 3D to first build the space. Then I imported it into AGi32, to receive accurate lighting calculations. The final result was a series of attractive looking images that accurately represent the room.

Lighting Design Project

This multi use building was designed for my senior architecture studio. The idea was to create a building that could function as a retail space on the busy street level but was still able to have office and apartment space above. Working within the local zoning codes, I developed this design using SketchUp. After finalizing the plans in Revit and AutoCAD, 3D models were imported into 3ds Max to create the renderings shown in this image.

This was the first project I completed while studying at Penn State. It was a group assignment for my freshman engineering design class. This project offered an introduction to the design process, CAD operation and model building.

The assignment was to design a house for given topographic map. The site this house was designed for was a steep hillside. The multiple floors allow for many lookouts aross the valley below. Large windows in the living and kitchen area let light in throughout the lower floor. My group and I put together full architectural plans, a scale model and artistic rendering of the final design.

My group worked strongly together to develop a final design based on the given parameters. My main contribution to the end product was the CAD documents shown here in part.
