My career to-date has involved working with many institutions and organizations both in the public and private sector in the areas of Standardization, Accreditation, Metrology, Testing and Technical Regulations as well as Environmental Protection at the international, national and regional level. In this regard, I, o Helped develop Standards at the national, sub-regional and continental level, o Undertook testing work at the national level as an Analytical Chemist and Public Analyst o Established Zambia's first Metrology Laboratory from scratch o Strengthened Zambia's product certification scheme (having expanded the Zambian Product Certification Scheme) o Participated in the development of the SADC Accreditation Model that eventually led to the creation of SADC Accreditation Service. During my career, o Supervised donor funded projects at the National level (Metrology Project), supervision of both long term and short term consultants at the national and regional level (Zambia and COMESA). That included annual programming and budget preparartion. o Managed and organisation as Director of Zambia Bureau of Standards including organization of Board meetings as well as dealing with senior Government officials and Politicians as well as members of Parliament. o Made contributions to a number of development of programmes at regional level (SADC and COMESA) as well as African level through participation in the development of ARSO schemes such as the ASHAM Model where I proposed the first Draft that formed the basis for the development of the Model. o Undertook a number of consultancy studies for Commonwealth Secretariat, ITC and COMESA; o Was involved in training in Quality Management systems, o Worked with experts at different of nationalities, cultures Specialties My main specialities (mainly in Standardization and related activities, include o Standards Development at the national, sub-regional and continental level, o Capacity Development building o Coordination and management of regional programmes l o Management of donor funded projects; o Undertaking of consultancy studies in Standardization, Metrology, Accreditation and Conformity Assessment
