Abstract Reservoir is always heterogeneous. Those heterogeneities may affect the tracer profile at different levels and can be extracted by analyzing of tracer breakthrough with an appropriate technique. This study has introduced an algorithm for analyzing of tracer breakthrough in the dipole flow geometry of fracture basement reservoirs in attempt to estimate the porous characteristics of fractured zones which contribute to the overall tracer profile.
